Analytics privacy

Updated 17 October 2026. This page covers Google Analytics visitor measurement, not contact or place suggestion forms.

Controller and contact details

Jesse Kaarna, Talviuintipaikat.fi. Contact: jesse@talviuintipaikat.fi.

What do we measure and why?

With your consent, we use Google Analytics 4 to improve the service by reviewing visitor numbers, page views and traffic sources. The Google tag loads only after you accept analytics.

Measurement includes technical browser and device information, cookie identifiers, page views and referral information. We send the page URL without query parameters or the fragment, and the referring URL without query parameters. We do not add names, email addresses, form responses, search text or geolocation coordinates to analytics. The network connection also transmits your IP address to Google; according to Google, GA4 does not log or store it.

Your choice and cookies

Analytics is optional. Accepting and rejecting are equally easy. We remember your choice in this browser’s local storage for 180 days. Rejection is also stored in a tw-analytics-denied cookie for 180 days. Accepted analytics uses first-party cookies starting with _ga, configured with a maximum lifetime of 180 days.

You can withdraw consent using Cookie settings on a map or region page and choosing Reject analytics. Analytics is then disabled, the page reloads and this site’s GA cookies are removed. Withdrawal alone does not delete data already processed. You can also delete cookies in your browser settings.

Google as service provider

Google processes measurement data in Google Analytics. This implementation does not enable advertising personalisation or Google Signals. Google services may involve processing personal data outside the EU/EEA. Read more about processing and transfer safeguards in Google’s data processing terms and Google’s privacy policy.

Retention and your rights

User and event data retention is set to 14 months. This deletion period does not apply in the same way to aggregated reports.

You can contact the address above to ask about data processing or, where applicable, request access, correction, deletion or restriction of processing. Analytics cookie identifiers are not linked to your name, so we may be unable to identify your data. You may withdraw consent at any time. You have the right to complain to the Finnish Data Protection Ombudsman.
